Merlin

'From the moment our Rottweiler puppy joined our family, April has been an absolutely amazing source of guidance, support and expertise. Her dedication has gone far beyond basic training, we feel like she has been with us every step of the way, helping us build a strong, trusting bond with our beloved pooch, Merlin.

The 1:1 sessions were tailored perfectly to his large breed and our needs, offering practical tips and reassurance as we navigated the early stages of puppyhood. As Merlin grew the Reconnect groups, especially the recent off-lead sessions have been useful in giving us more confidence and control in many situations.

What truly sets April apart is her ongoing commitment, coupled with her honesty and positivity. Whether its training, advice, agility classes or dog sitting, we always feel incredibly supported and truly understood. April's enthusiastic and knowledgeable approach has made a lasting impact on Merlin's behaviour and our peace of mind.

April has also created a fantastic community for dog owners where we can share ideas, frustrations, concerns and many giggles. We have met so many and hope to make many more friends. Not only does April care so much about all her clients, but she also somehow manages to find the time to do so much more such as arranging charity quiz nights or day trips to Crufts.

We are beyond grateful to have found April and couldn't recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled and genuinely caring dog trainer.'

Bear

'Joining Pawcentric with my cockapoo puppy Bear was one of the best decisions I've made. From the very first puppy class April has been amazing - knowledgeable, intuitive and completely dog-focused.

We've had tailored 1:1 sessions targeting Bear's specific needs, especially recall and helping him stay focused on me. The progress has been incredible. We've also taken part in 'Reconnect groups' which April carefully curates to ensure the dogs are well-matched - it's been brilliant for Bear's socialisation.

The off-lead field sessions have been another highlight. Off-lead and full of play, April makes sure every dog is happy, engaged and having a positive experience.

As the name suggests, 'Pawcentric' is all about the dogs. April puts so much energy into making sure they thrive - and it shows. Bear has come such a long way and I'm genuinely excited to continue our journey with April and Pawcentric.'

Bertie

'We were given Bertie's details from another local trainer as Bertie was displaying reactivity in group classes at around 18 months old. Despite being obedient in the groups it was a predictable pattern so he was okay mostly but anything out of the ordinary he would react.

He used to lunge and bark at other dogs, rear up, even if they were on the other side of the road. He is also wary of strangers approaching and touching him. Unpredictable situations was a definite trigger.

This was on every walk and it was a nightmare. Looks from people and comments about being an aggressive dog, he shouldn't be out in public etc.

The fact was that he was was actually unsure and worried - we just didn't know this and how deep the uncertainty was.

With April we have had many 1:1 sessions and more recently moved into the Reconnect groups. The 1:1's allowed us to understand him and know what his triggers are to work through those situations. Understanding that he is worried about new situations, new dogs and people. We just didn't know! We now understand he needed space, but the 'space' he needs has got smaller and smaller as the months go on.

April is calm and always always will do what is best for the dog and it will be at the dogs pace. Nothing phases her and her extensive knowledge of animal behaviour allows us to try different approaches if something doesn't work or we try something else.

He can now walk with no or very minimal reactivity on a walk. There is always bigger, fluffier dogs that might be a trigger! But in honesty his reactivity with dog walking has gone from full blown 100% to may be 10% or less now.

The Reconnect groups have been a gamechanger for him. He can walk with dogs of all breeds in the Reconnect walks with ease and pleasure. April is excellent at matching him with other dogs and knowing what would worry him and what would be okay to push him to 'face his fears'. We still have lots to do with him in terms of his learning and trying to progress him further and we will be with April on this journey.

In summary: April has a calm force free positive approach which has been a game-changer for my boy, he absolutely loves her! We love the Reconnect groups as they feel like you are 'normal' and we love April for starting these. We would not be on this journey with anyone else.'

Donia

'April is absolutely amazing. What really sets her apart is her ability to read and respond to dogs and their owners. She really understands dogs on a deep level (their behaviour, their needs, their personalities) and uses positive, compassionate methods that are tailored to each dog. She creates a safe, encouraging space where owners feel supported and thrive. My dog and I have learned so much together under her guidance and we really enjoy her sessions.

Her Reconnect group walks in real-life environments are a fantastic part of her offer. They're fun, well-organised and great way for dogs and their owners to socialise. April clearly explains the dogs' behaviours, tells us what to do if needed and helps everyone to develop their understanding. I feel completely secure knowing that April is monitoring everything and my dog absolutely loves the experience!

April has built and incredibly welcoming community. It's full of friendly people who are kind and supportive. It's made such a difference being part of the community and knowing that we are not alone. It's become a wonderful part of our life, not just for my dog but for me as well.

April is genuinely passionate about dogs (and other animals too!). If you are looking for someone who will support, teach and truly care for your dog and you - It's April.

Thank you so much April.
